An authorized intrastate for-hire carrier of household goods shall obtain and retain for a period of at least three years a criminal background check of each employee whose duties may require contact with the public or entry into a private residence or storage facility for the purpose of providing or facilitating the transportation of household goods. The department shall adopt rules for conducting the criminal background check required and may prohibit an employee’s activities based on the result of the criminal background check.
