A person may not operate a sailboat that is at least 12 feet in length or a motorboat on the waters of this state without first obtaining an aquatic invasive species prevention permit from the State Marine Board under ORS § 830.570. [2009 c.764 § 7; 2019 c.507 § 12]
Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 830.565
- Board: means the State Marine Board. See Oregon Statutes 830.005
- Length: means the length of a boat measured from end to end over the deck excluding sheer. See Oregon Statutes 830.005
- Motorboat: means any boat propelled in whole or in part by machinery, including boats temporarily equipped with detachable motors. See Oregon Statutes 830.005
- Operate: means to navigate or otherwise use a boat. See Oregon Statutes 830.005
- Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
- Waters of this state: means all waters within the territorial limits of this state, the marginal sea adjacent to this state and the high seas when navigated as part of a journey or ride to or from the shore of this state. See Oregon Statutes 830.005
