An invitation for bids, a request for proposals, or other solicitation may be cancelled, or all bids or proposals may be rejected, if it is determined, in writing, that the cancellation or rejection is taken in the best interest of the state and approved by the chief purchasing officer.

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 37-2-23
- in writing: include printing, engraving, lithographing, and photo-lithographing, and all other representations of words in letters of the usual form. See Rhode Island General Laws 43-3-16
- Invitation for bids: shall mean all documents, whether attached or incorporated by reference, utilized for soliciting bids in accordance with the procedures set forth in § 37-2-18 and Rhode Island General Laws 37-2-15
- Request for proposals: shall mean all documents, whether attached or incorporated by reference, utilized for soliciting proposals in accordance with the procedures set forth in this chapter. See Rhode Island General Laws 37-2-15
