(a)  All state agencies may render any services to the Rhode Island commerce corporation within their respective functions as may be requested by the corporation.

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 42-64-27

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: means the state of Rhode Island. See Rhode Island General Laws 42-64-3
  • State agency: means any office, department, board, commission, bureau, division, authority, or public corporation, agency or instrumentality of the state. See Rhode Island General Laws 42-64-3

(b)  Upon request of the corporation, any state agency is authorized and empowered to transfer to the corporation any officers and employees as it may deem necessary from time to time to assist the corporation in carrying out its functions and duties under this chapter. Officers and employees so transferred shall not lose their civil service status or rights.
