(a) Only those persons who hold a license or privilege to practice as advanced practice registered nurses in this state shall have the right to use the title “advanced practice registered nurse” and the roles of “certified registered nurse anesthetist,” “clinical nurse specialist,” and “certified nurse practitioner”; and the abbreviations “APRN,” “CRNA,” “CNS,” and “CNP” respectively.

- Certified registered nurse anesthetist: is a s defined in chapter 34. See Rhode Island General Laws 5-34-3
(b) The abbreviation for the APRN designation of a certified registered nurse anesthetist, a clinical nurse specialist, and for a certified nurse practitioner will be APRN, plus the role title, i.e., CRNA, CNS, and CNP.
