To be eligible for licensure as an associate home inspector, an applicant shall fulfill the following requirements:
(1) Be of good moral character;
(2) Have successfully completed high school or its equivalent;
(3) Have assisted in not less than fifty (50) home inspections in the presence of a licensed home inspector; and
(4) Have passed an examination approved or administered by the board. The examination may have been passed before July 1, 2013.

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 5-65.1-5
- Associate home inspector: means a person who is employed by a licensed home inspector to conduct a home inspection of a residential building on behalf of a client for a fee under the direct supervision of the licensed home inspector and is licensed pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. - Board: means the contractors' registration and licensing board. See Rhode Island General Laws 5-65.1-2
- Home inspector: means any person licensed as a home inspector to conduct a home inspection of a residential building on behalf of a client for a fee pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. See Rhode Island General Laws 5-65.1-2
