The board shall have the power to subpoena and bring before it any witness to take testimony, either orally or by deposition, or both, in any proceeding authorized by law.

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 5-65.3-14
- Board: means the contractors' registration and licensing board as defined in § 5-65-1. See Rhode Island General Laws 5-65.3-2
- Deposition: An oral statement made before an officer authorized by law to administer oaths. Such statements are often taken to examine potential witnesses, to obtain discovery, or to be used later in trial.
- Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
- Testimony: Evidence presented orally by witnesses during trials or before grand juries.
