(a) The fees, including mileage, of deputy sheriffs, town sergeants, and constables, for which a deposit to insure payment may be required, shall not exceed the following:
(1) | For serving any writ of replevin, or out of state papers ………………………………….. | $100.00 | |

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 9-29-9
- Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
- Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
- Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
- town: may be construed to include city; the words "town council" include city council; the words "town clerk" include city clerk; the words "ward clerk" include clerk of election district; the words "town treasurer" include city treasurer; and the words "town sergeant" include city sergeant. See Rhode Island General Laws 43-3-9
- Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
(b) The above fees shall be deposited as general revenue.
