Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws > Chapter 23-17.9 - Registration of Nursing Assistants

  • Certifying agency: means the state department of health. See Rhode Island General Laws 23-17.9-2
  • Dependent: A person dependent for support upon another.
  • Director: means the director of the state department of health, or his or her designee. See Rhode Island General Laws 23-17.9-2
  • Fraud: Intentional deception resulting in injury to another.
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
