Terms Used In South Carolina Code 11-57-720

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Fiduciary: A trustee, executor, or administrator.
  • Investment: means a commitment or contribution of funds or property, whatever the source, a loan or other extension of credit, and the entry into or renewal of a contract for goods or services. See South Carolina Code 11-57-30
Nothing in this article requires the Retirement System Investment Commission or its agents or contract investment managers to take action as described in this article unless it is determined, in good faith, that the action described in this article is consistent with the fiduciary responsibilities of the commission or its agents or contract investment managers as described in Chapter 16 of Title 9, and there are appropriated funds of the State to absorb the expenses necessary to implement this article.
