Terms Used In South Carolina Code 12-60-20
- Department: means the South Carolina Department of Revenue. See South Carolina Code 12-60-30
- taxes: means taxes, licenses, permits, fees, or other amounts, including interest, regulatory and other penalties, and civil fines, imposed by this title, or subject to assessment or collection by the department. See South Carolina Code 12-60-30
It is the intent of the General Assembly to provide the people of this State with a straightforward procedure to determine a dispute with the Department of Revenue and a dispute concerning property taxes. The South Carolina Revenue Procedures Act must be interpreted and construed in accordance with, and in furtherance of, that intent.
