Terms Used In South Carolina Code 14-3-430

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
Upon an appeal under item (3) of § 14-3-330 the court may review any intermediate order involving the merits and necessarily affecting the order appealed from.
