- Concurrent resolution: A legislative measure, designated "S. Con. Res." and numbered consecutively upon introduction, generally employed to address the sentiments of both chambers, to deal with issues or matters affecting both houses, such as a concurrent budget resolution, or to create a temporary joint committee. Concurrent resolutions are not submitted to the President/Governor and thus do not have the force of law.
- Joint session: When both chambers of a legislature adopt a concurrent resolution to meet together.
- Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
The General Assembly shall meet in joint session for the election to the boards in § 2-20-320. The date and time for the joint session must be set by concurrent resolution upon the recommendation of the commission. The chairman of the commission shall announce the commission’s nominees for each trustee race, and no further nominating or seconding speeches may be allowed by members of the General Assembly. In order to be elected, a candidate must receive a majority of the vote of the members of the General Assembly present and voting in joint session.
