- Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
Before entering upon the duties of his office any such deputy shall take the oath prescribed by the Constitution and statutes of this State. He shall also execute the bond required of constables by § 22-9-20 and shall be subject to the provisions of § 22-9-160.
