Terms Used In South Carolina Code 3-1-130

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
The jurisdiction ceded in any case pursuant to § 3-1-120 shall not vest until the United States shall have acquired the title to any such lands by purchase, condemnation or otherwise.
