- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
Any person who, either as agent or principal, enters into or assists in making any contract of sale of the sort or character denounced in § 32-1-220 for the future delivery of cotton, grain, stocks or other commodities or who maintains a bucket shop shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be imprisoned in the penitentiary not exceeding two years.
