(a) Chapters 1 through 17 of this title apply to statutory close corporations to the extent not inconsistent with the provisions of this chapter.
(b) This chapter applies to a professional corporation organized under the South Carolina Professional Corporation Supplement (Chapter 19 of this title) whose articles of incorporation contain the statement required by § 33-18-103(a), except insofar as the South Carolina Professional Corporation Supplement contains inconsistent provisions.

- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
(c) This chapter does not repeal or modify any statute or rule of law that is or would apply to a corporation that is organized under Chapters 1 through 17 of this title or the South Carolina Professional Corporation Supplement (Chapter 19 of this title) and that does not elect to become a statutory close corporation under § 33-18-103.
