Terms Used In South Carolina Code 33-36-250

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
The Secretary of State shall conform articles of incorporation supplied by his office for "corporations not-for-profit" to the provisions of §§ 33-36-10 and 33-36-20. In addition, any other forms supplied by the Secretary of State which may be required of a corporation not- for-profit must be conformed to the provisions of this chapter.
