Terms Used In South Carolina Code 40-69-40
- Board: means the South Carolina State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. See South Carolina Code 40-69-20
- Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
- Veterinarian: means a person who has received a doctor's degree or equivalent in veterinary medicine. See South Carolina Code 40-69-20
In addition to the powers and duties enumerated in § 40-1-50, the board, at the first board meeting in each calendar year, shall elect from the veterinarian members a chairman, vice chairman, and any other officer it considers necessary. The board shall meet at least twice a year and upon the call of the chairman or any two members of the board. Action of the board may be taken at regular or special meetings, and a majority of the appointed members of the board constitutes a quorum.
