A registered barber who has used chemicals to wave, relax, straighten, or bleach the hair before July 1, 1985, may receive a temporary master haircare specialist license without the examination required in § 40-7-230(D)(2) by notifying the board and certifying sixty hours of on-the-job experience with chemical applications.
