Terms Used In South Carolina Code 40-75-80
- Board: means the South Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Addictions Counselors, and Psycho-Educational Specialists. See South Carolina Code 40-75-20
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Person: means an individual, organization, or corporation, except that only individuals can be licensed under this article. See South Carolina Code 40-75-20
- Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
For the purpose of conducting an investigation or proceeding under this chapter, the board or a person designated by the board may subpoena witnesses, take evidence, and require the production of any documents or records which the board considers relevant to the inquiry.
