Terms Used In South Carolina Code 41-13-30
- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
Any parent, guardian or other person having under his control any child who consents, suffers or permits the employment of his child or ward under the ages above provided or who knowingly or wilfully misrepresents the age of such child or ward to any person in order to obtain employment for such child or ward contrary to the provisions of § 41-13-10 shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and for every offense shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not less than ten dollars nor more than fifty dollars or be imprisoned not longer than thirty days, in the discretion of the court.
