Terms Used In South Carolina Code 44-10-100
- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
Member states, by unanimous agreement, may amend this compact from time to time without prior congressional consent or approval and any amendment shall be effective unless, within one year, the Congress disapproves that amendment. Any state may join this compact after the date by adoption into law under its state constitution.
