- Precedent: A court decision in an earlier case with facts and law similar to a dispute currently before a court. Precedent will ordinarily govern the decision of a later similar case, unless a party can show that it was wrongly decided or that it differed in some significant way.
As a further condition precedent for doing business in this State any person to whom the provisions of § 46-33-10 apply shall appoint the Secretary of State as his agent to accept service in any suit brought against him for the violation of the conditions of the bond required by § 46-33-20.
