- Boat: means a vessel. See South Carolina Code 50-21-10
- Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
The motorboats competing in a regatta, boat race, marine parade, tournament, or exhibition approved as provided in § 50-21-1210 are exempted from the provisions of this article. Exceptions also may be granted during designated hours for pretrial runs and for trial runs for speed records immediately following the event.
