Terms Used In South Carolina Code 63-11-540
- Child: means a person under the age of eighteen. See South Carolina Code 63-1-40
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
- Guardian: means a person who legally has the care and management of a child. See South Carolina Code 63-1-40
All reports made and information collected as described in § 63-7-1990(A) must be made available to the guardian ad litem by the Department of Social Services. Upon proof of appointment as guardian ad litem and upon the guardian ad litem request, access to information must be made available to the guardian ad litem by the appropriate medical and dental authorities, psychologists, social workers, counselors, schools, and any agency providing services to the child.
