South Dakota Codified Laws 23A-42-1. No limitation on prosecution for Class A, Class B, or Class C felonies

There is no limitation on the time within which a prosecution for Class A, Class B, or Class C felony must be commenced.

Under the South Dakota Laws, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:

Class	Prison	Fine
Class C felony	up to life	up to $50,000
