The commission shall be composed of seven members.

Terms Used In South Dakota Codified Laws 25-4A-30

  • President pro tempore: A constitutionally recognized officer of the Senate who presides over the chamber in the absence of the Vice President. The President Pro Tempore (or, "president for a time") is elected by the Senate and is, by custom, the Senator of the majority party with the longest record of continuous service.

(1) A member of the South Dakota Judiciary;

(2) A member in good standing of the South Dakota State Bar;

(3) A professional in the field of childhood development.

(4) The Governor shall appoint the following two positions:
