The Governor shall administer the highway safety program within this state and authorize, direct, and coordinate existing and future activities of agencies of this state and its political subdivisions in the program. The Governor shall do all things necessary to the administration of the program under the Federal Highway Safety Act of 1966, Public Law 89-564, as amended and in effect on July 1, 1984.
