All vehicles not required in §§ 32-17-1 to 32-17-25, inclusive, to be equipped with specified lighted lamps shall carry one or more lighted lamps or lanterns displaying a white light visible under normal atmospheric conditions from a distance of at least five hundred feet to the front and to the rear of such vehicle. A violation of this section is a petty offense.
