No manufacturer or boat dealer may transfer ownership of a new large boat without supplying the transferee with the manufacturer’s or importer’s certificate of origin signed by the manufacturer’s or importer’s authorized agent. The certificate shall contain information the department requires. No boat dealer may purchase or acquire a new large boat without obtaining from the seller a manufacturer’s statement of origin. Any person who does not comply with this section is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor.
