With the approval of twothirds of the landowners, a community may petition the county to assess a special levy to be used for weed and pest control programs in that community. For the purposes of this section, a community is any township, a natural or artificial geographic area, or a subdivision of a board member area as designated by the county weed and pest board and represented by a community representative. Any such program for the control of weeds and pests which is funded by a special levy shall be administered through the county weed and pest board.
