South Dakota Codified Laws 41-9-5. Damage to or destruction of posted notices as misdemeanor

It is a Class 2 misdemeanor to remove, damage, mutilate, or destroy any notices legally posted pursuant to this chapter.

Under the South Dakota Laws, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:

Class	Prison	Fine
Class 2 misdemeanor	up to 30 days	up to $500
