A licensed insurance producer who is unable to comply with license renewal procedures due to military service or some other extenuating circumstance, such as a longterm medical disability, may request a waiver of those procedures. The producer may also request a waiver of any examination requirement or any other monetary penalty or sanction imposed for failure to comply with renewal procedures. The director may promulgate rules pursuant to chapter 1-26 for determining what constitutes extenuating circumstances if the director finds that application of this section or the imposition of sanctions would create an unreasonable hardship.
