Terms Used In Tennessee Code 13-20-103
- Commissioner: means one (1) of the members of an authority appointed in accordance with this chapter. See Tennessee Code 13-20-102
- housing authority: means a public body and a body corporate and politic organized in accordance with this chapter for the purposes, with the powers, and subject to the restrictions, hereinafter set forth. See Tennessee Code 13-20-102
- Housing project: includes all real and personal property, buildings and improvements, stores, offices, lands for farming and gardening, and community facilities acquired or constructed or to be acquired or constructed pursuant to a single plan or undertaking, to:
(i) Demolish, clear, remove, alter or repair unsanitary or unsafe housing. See Tennessee Code 13-20-102 - Person: includes a corporation, firm, company or association. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
Nothing contained in this chapter shall be construed to prevent meetings of the commissioners anywhere within the perimeter boundaries of the area of operation of the authority or within any additional area where the housing authority is authorized to undertake a housing project, nor to prevent the appointment of any person as a commissioner of the authority who resides within such boundaries or such additional area, and who is otherwise eligible for such appointment under this chapter.
