Terms Used In Tennessee Code 16-11-112

  • Code: includes the Tennessee Code and all amendments and revisions to the code and all additions and supplements to the code. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The chancery court has jurisdiction, concurrent with all other judicial tribunals, of arbitration and agreed cases under this code.
