Tennessee Code 49-2-102 – County mayors

It is the duty of the county mayor to:

(1) Approve the bond of the county director of schools; and

County mayor: means and includes "county executive" unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.

(2) Make quarterly settlements with the county trustee and the county board of education of the elementary and the high school funds.
