(a) The board of trustees of the university shall hold at least one (1) stated meeting annually on a day or days determined by the board from year to year and at called meetings that may be necessary, to be called by the secretary, giving at least five (5) days’ notice to the board members, but the board may adjourn the stated or called meetings to any date that it may set for adjournment.

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 49-9-205

  • Adjourn: A motion to adjourn a legislative chamber or a committee, if passed, ends that day's session.
  • Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
  • Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
(b) Six (6) members shall constitute a quorum, and they are empowered to transact any business.
(c) The board has the authority to transact at any called meeting any business it is authorized to transact at stated meetings.
(d) Meetings of the board shall be made available for viewing by the public over the internet by streaming video accessible from the board’s website. Archived videos of the board’s meetings shall also be available to the public through the board’s website.
