Notwithstanding § 55-4-256, § 55-4-257, or any other provision of this chapter, a veteran or active-duty service member of the armed services is exempt from the regular registration fee prescribed under § 55-4-111 and any fee provided for in § 55-4-204(c)(1) for a motor vehicle sold, given, or donated to the veteran or service member if:
Terms Used In Tennessee Code 55-4-137
- Department: means the department of revenue. See Tennessee Code 55-1-111
- United States: includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
- Vehicle: means every device in, upon or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a highway, excepting devices used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks. See Tennessee Code 55-8-101
