Terms Used In Tennessee Code 55-4-324

  • Owner: means a person who holds the legal title of a vehicle, or in the event a vehicle is the subject of an agreement for the conditional sale or lease thereof, with the right of purchase upon performance of the conditions stated in the agreement and with an immediate right of possession vested in the conditional vendee or lessee, or in the event a mortgagor of a vehicle is entitled to possession, then the conditional vendee or lessee or mortgagor shall be deemed the owner for the purpose of this chapter and chapter 10, parts 1-5 of this title. See Tennessee Code 55-8-101
  • Representative: when applied to those who represent a decedent, includes executors and administrators, unless the context implies heirs and distributees. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
  • Vehicle: means every device in, upon or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a highway, excepting devices used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks. See Tennessee Code 55-8-101
(1) An owner or lessee of a motor vehicle who is a resident of this state, upon complying with state motor vehicle laws relating to registration and licensing of motor vehicles and paying the regular fee applicable to the motor vehicle and the fee provided for in § 55-4-204, shall be issued a Promote Peace new specialty earmarked license plate for a motor vehicle authorized by § 55-4-210(c).
(2) The new specialty earmarked plates provided for in this subsection (a) must contain the official Rotary Peace logo or other design representative of Rotary International. The plates must be designed in consultation with a representative of Rotary International.
(3) The funds produced from the sale of Promote Peace new specialty earmarked license plates must be allocated to Rotary Club of Madison-Goodlettsville Foundation in accordance with § 55-4-301. The funds must be used exclusively to support Rotary International’s peacebuilding and conflict resolution initiatives across Tennessee through Rotary district and club outreach to their communities focusing on the importance of promoting peace and resolving conflicts, including providing funding to local schools and camps for educational materials related to peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and anti-bullying.
(b)

(1) An owner or lessee of a motor vehicle who is a resident of this state, upon complying with state motor vehicle laws relating to registration and licensing of motor vehicles and paying the regular fee applicable to the motor vehicle and the fee provided for in § 55-4-204, shall be issued a 100 Black Men new specialty earmarked license plate for a motor vehicle authorized by § 55-4-210(c).
(2) The new specialty earmarked plates provided for in this subsection (b) must be designed in consultation with a representative of 100 Black Men of Memphis, Inc.
(3) The funds produced from the sale of 100 Black Men new specialty earmarked license plates must be allocated to 100 Black Men of Memphis, Inc., in accordance with § 55-4-301. The funds must be used exclusively in this state to support the organization’s mission to support local communities and mentor and develop young people into future leaders through programs and services focusing on the areas of mentoring, education, health and wellness, and economic empowerment.
(c)

(1) An owner or lessee of a motor vehicle who is a resident of this state, upon complying with state motor vehicle laws relating to registration and licensing of motor vehicles and paying the regular fee applicable to the motor vehicle and the fee provided for in § 55-4-204, shall be issued an America at Its Best new specialty earmarked license plate for a motor vehicle authorized by § 55-4-210(c).
(2) The new specialty earmarked plates provided for in this section must be designed in consultation with a representative of Coalesce Social Services, Inc.
(3) The funds produced from the sale of America at Its Best new specialty earmarked license plates must be allocated to Coalesce Social Services, Inc., in accordance with § 55-4-301. The funds must be used exclusively to provide transitional housing and related services to persons experiencing homelessness.
