Terms Used In Tennessee Code 62-6-114
- Contractor: includes , but is not limited to, a prime contractor, electrical contractor, electrical subcontractor, mechanical contractor, mechanical subcontractor, plumbing contractor and plumbing subcontractor, masonry contractor, and roofing subcontractor where the total cost of the roofing portion of the construction project is twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) or more. - Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Person: includes a corporation, firm, company or association. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
The issuance of a certificate of license shall be evidence that the person, firm or corporation named in the certificate is entitled to all the rights and privileges of a licensed contractor while the license remains unrevoked or unexpired.
