Terms Used In Tennessee Code 63-6-1207
- Cytopathology services: means the examination of cells from fluids, aspirates, washings, brushings or smears, including the Pap test examination performed by a physician or under the supervision of a physician. See Tennessee Code 63-6-1201
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
The appropriate state licensing board having jurisdiction over any practitioner who may request or provide cytopathology services may revoke, suspend or deny renewal of the license of any practitioner who violates this part.
