(a) Any person aggrieved by an order or act of the commissioner or department under this chapter may, within fifteen (15) days after notice thereof, appeal from such order or act to the board.

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 68-121-112

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Board: means the elevator and amusement device safety board, created in §. See Tennessee Code 68-121-101
  • Commissioner: means the commissioner of labor and workforce development. See Tennessee Code 68-121-101
  • Department: means the department of labor and workforce development. See Tennessee Code 68-121-101
  • Person: includes a corporation, firm, company or association. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
(b) The board shall hear the appeal in accordance with the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act, compiled in title 4, chapter 5.
