Tennessee Code 8-34-301 – General powers and duties

(a) The general administration and responsibility for the proper operation of the retirement system and for making effective chapters 34-37 of this title are hereby vested in a board of trustees.

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 8-34-301

board: means the board provided for in part 3 of this chapter. See Tennessee Code 8-34-101
Retirement: means withdrawal from membership with a retirement allowance granted under chapters 34-37 of this title. See Tennessee Code 8-34-101
Retirement system: means the Tennessee consolidated retirement system as defined in §. See Tennessee Code 8-34-101
State: means the state of Tennessee. See Tennessee Code 8-34-101

(b) The board of trustees may delegate to the state treasurer the duty to carry out the day-to-day operations and responsibilities for the administration of the retirement system, including, but not limited to, complying with all applicable state and federal laws and rules.
