Terms Used In Michigan Laws 124.607

  • Authority: means an authority incorporated under this act. See Michigan Laws 124.601
  • Devise: To gift property by will.
  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
     An authority may acquire private property by purchase, lease, gift, devise, or condemnation, either within or without its corporate limits, and may hold, manage, control, sell, exchange, or lease property it has acquired. For the purpose of condemnation, it may proceed under Act No. 149 of the Public Acts of 1911, being section 213.1 to 213.25 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, and the uniform condemnation procedures act, Act No. 87 of the Public Acts of 1980, being section 213.51 to 213.77 of the Michigan Compiled Laws.
