Terms Used In Michigan Laws 129.93
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Funds: means the money of a public corporation, the investment of which is not otherwise subject to a public act of this state or bond authorizing ordinance or resolution of a public corporation that permits investment in fewer than all of the investment options listed in subsection (1) or imposes 1 or more conditions upon an investment in an option listed in subsection (1). See Michigan Laws 129.91
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. Investments made before the effective date of the amendatory act that repealed section 2 of the surplus funds, sinking funds, or insurance funds of a political subdivision of this state in bonds and other obligations of the United States or its instrumentalities or certificates of deposit or depository receipts of a bank that is a member of the federal deposit insurance corporation as provided under section 1 and former section 2 of this act are hereby ratified and validated.
