- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. All powers, duties and functions of the secretary of state under the provisions of Act No. 383 of the Public Acts of 1927, as amended, being section 338.801 to 338.813 of the Compiled Laws of 1948, relating to private detectives and private detective agencies are transferred by a type II transfer to the department of state police.
