- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. The Michigan state waterways commission created under section 2 of Act No. 320 of the Public Acts of 1947, as amended, being section 281.502 of the Compiled Laws of 1948, is transferred by a type I transfer to the department of natural resources.
