- inhabitant: means a resident of a city, township, village, district or county. See Michigan Laws 8.3f

A person shall not be a United States Senator unless the person has attained the age of 30 years and has been a citizen of the United States for 9 years, and is, when elected, an inhabitant of that state for which he or she shall be chosen as provided in section 3 of Article I of the United States Constitution.
