- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
In case such highway is only to be used in the winter time such facts shall be set up in the application and also in the finding of the jury or commissioners, and this shall be taken into consideration in awarding damages to the owners of the land crossed.
